The Network and its role
As a result of an increasing awareness of the unmet needs in our community, SABN came into being on 1 April 2003 by renting an office in the centre of St. Albans.
THE MISSION STATEMENT
The St. Albans City and District Bereavement Network seek to enable anyone in St. Albans City and District to have access to bereavement support.
The Network offers:
A Helpline no. 01727 841841 answered personally each weekday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon,
and 1 to 3 p.m. with an answer-phone at other times.

STATEMENT OF INTENT
The St. Albans City and District Bereavement Network (SABN)
Aims to be a non-sectarian, non-political voluntary association of people of faith and non-faith
Is developing an expanding service in response to perceived need, in co-operation with other bereavement support agencies
Acts as a co-ordinator of bereavement care, i.e. responding to needs which are appropriate to our service and linking people to other sources of help.
Seeks to ensure that the services provided meet national standards of bereavement care.
